Enertek Solutions Introduces New InfiniGen™ Lithium Battery for Emergency Equipment Industry
PORTLAND, Ore. – November 6, 2011 – Enertek Solutions, Inc. today announced the newest addition to its all-electric InfiniGen™ product line. At the specific request of a major original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the fire truck and emergency response equipment manufacturing industry, Enertek Solutions’ team  designed, engineered, built and perfected a 6 Kilowatt hour (Kwh) 12 volt High-Power Lithium battery, weighing approximately 100 pounds.

Dubbed the "NRG e-Pak", this battery provides high-performance Lithium Polymer battery power for up to 6 continuous hours for fire trucks, ambulances, law enforcement and Command & Control vehicles. The compact, high-density Lithium battery itself functions as an auxiliary power source to power all the necessary equipment without idling engines and has 'auto-start/stop' functions that work seamlessly with the vehicle's on-board electronics

The newest Lithium battery provides the site power required for an emergency vehicle at the scene of an accident, fire or at a hazardous material spill without reliance on external power sources. This system eliminates the need for any starter batteries or a diesel generator set, but easily works in tandem with any generator or power assistance equipment, if desired. It can also re-charge directly off the truck alternator or from shore power back at the fire station in as little as 2 hours from 100% depletion of battery storage capacity.

“Although emergency equipment is not nearly as sensitive to weight issues as say, the Class 8 heavy duty transportation industry, usable space is still critical and $4+ per gallon fuel is breaking the bank of many municipalities,” said Paul Baumann, President of Global Sales and Marketing for Enertek Solutions. “This is an important development for cities, state and federal government agencies tasked with protecting the general public on a 24/7 basis. It also coincides perfectly with Federal anti-idling mandates currently being enforced, while saving millions of gallons of fuel for the fire and ambulance industry. Not to mention, money saved can be invested in other innovative technology in order to save lives.”

Dr. Dennis L. Jenkins, Director Northern Great Basin Archaeological Field School, Museum of Natural and Cultural History, University of Oregon

(August 9, 2011)

“Enertek Solutions, Inc., an Xfinigen, Inc. affiliate, supplied cutting-edge battery powered lighting systems to the University of Oregon’s ‘Paisley Caves Archaeological Research Project’ during the summer of 2011.   The Paisley Caves Project is located in the Summer Lake basin in the high desert of Central Oregon.  The site is remote, undeveloped, hot, dry, and dusty.  These conditions have combined to preserve the oldest directly dated human remains (ancient DNA in dried human excrement >14,000 years old) in the Western Hemisphere.  The lighting systems supplied by Enertek were employed in three very different cave settings (1 wide open and exposed to desert heat throughout the late afternoon, 1 deep, fairly dark, and cool throughout most of the day, and the third requiring suspended lighting over deep, sand bagged slit-trenches from early morning to late afternoon) and provided  up to 32 hours of constant LED lighting between recharges. These systems eliminated the need for  heavy, expensive, and noisy gasoline generator use on site for all but the heaviest rock breaking activities. The lighting systems were very compact, eliminating the need for hundreds of feet of heavy, unsightly power cords winding through boulder fields and across work areas. Thus, increasing our safety and the reliability of the lighting systems. The light stations were very compact, each covering an area of only 10-12 square feet. The systems performed magnificently. We experienced no failures throughout six weeks of constant use involving frequent dismantling, and repositioning. We found them to be very adaptable, providing high levels of light to the dark caves and excavation units. The lighting allowed the excavators to clearly see the colors and textures of the sediments they were digging through so they could find artifacts in place and accurately determine what sediment types they were found in. I was very pleased with their performance and can highly recommend them without reservation.”

XfiniGen, Inc. Announces Agreement with University of Oregon to Supply ‘Green’ Lighting System for Paisley Caves Project

EUGENE, Ore. – April 4, 2011 – XfiniGen, Inc. has reached an agreement with the University of Oregon to supply a cutting-edge lighting system for the Museum of Natural and Cultural History’s Paisley Caves Archaeological Project located north of Paisley in south-central Oregon this summer.

Enertek Solutions, Inc., a newly acquired affiliate of XfiniGen, Inc., made the arrangements for the purpose of advancing the internationally known archaeological and biomolecular research being conducted at the site. The Paisley Caves have produced the oldest directly dated human remains (ancient DNA) in the Western Hemisphere.

The green lighting solution planned for the excavations will provide up to 12 hours of constant LED lighting (8000 lumins) via the combination of an InfiniGEN™ high-tech energy storage system and Onyx Solar Panels supplied by partner, NuSun Solar of Columbus, Ind. The system will eliminate the need for heavy, expensive and noisy fossil fuel generators on site.

Enertek Solutions, Inc. signed an exclusive license agreement on a collaborative basis with XfiniGen, Inc. in January 2011 via partners at Greenworks Energy, the parent company of NuSun Solar. By combining lithium energy storage packs and the most-efficient solar panels manufactured in the United States to date, the ‘totally green’ off-grid lighting package will provide high levels of light to the caves’ dark interiors while reducing costs to the UO’s archaeological field school.

“We are very honored to not only be supplying a unique lighting solution combining the use of state-of-the-art lithium batteries and solar power, but to be able to also provide an official site photographer for 2011,” says Paul Baumann, President of Global Sales and Marketing for XfiniGen, Inc. “This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our company. By partnering with the University of Oregon in this project, we pay tribute to the incredible scientific discoveries the UO is making right here in Oregon.”

Dr. Dennis Jenkins, a Senior Research Archaeologist at the UO’s Museum of Natural and Cultural History, has directed the Northern Great Basin archaeological field school since 1989.

“We are looking forward to the improved lighting and reliability that Enertek Solutions and its affiliates are bringing to the Paisley Caves this summer,” says Jenkins. “I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that the excavators be able to clearly see the colors and textures of the sediments they are digging through. They must be able to also see any evidence of human activity they encounter and pursue recovery without disturbing any material they find.”

According to Jenkins, the lighting system will provide more light than previously has been available to the site and will eliminate distracting noise levels associated with gasoline, generator-based lighting systems. “It also is fitting that an Oregon-based company has stepped forward to help the University of Oregon resolve important lighting problems by applying totally green technology,” he said.
